Did we see any sunshine ? Yes, but only about 20 seconds on one of the distant fells. Did we get rain? Yes, it rained most of every day. Was it windy ? Yes Very !</p>
<p>This shot was from the top of the stile at Castlerigg Stone Circle. <p>Storms, fires and the Irish Sea have done their best over the years to remove the derelict end of the pier at Lytham. But it's still standing.</p>
<p>This image was taken on the same stormy day as the previous images. <p>An incoming tide, rough seas and a gale force wind made shooting conditions quite tricky at Cleveleys. <p>Opened in 1892 Preston Dock was the largest single dock in the country and the first to introduce the roll on roll off traffic system in the late 1940's. Over 500 dockers were employed by the mid 1960's mainly handling cotton and wood pulp. </p>
<p>The port closed in 1979, due to the decrease in cotton imports and the increase in ship sizes which could not longer fit into the dock.</p>

<p>A memorial to John Stuart McCaig, a local banker. McCaig commissioned the project to employ local stonemasons who were without work during the winter months. Construction only took place during these months between 1895 and 1902. It was intended that the building become a museum and art gallery, but the money and the construction stopped with the death of McCaig in 1902.</p>

The aircraft was flying on a Bullseye training exercise piloted by Joseph B Timperon from Australia.</p>
<p>This memorial, at Lead Mines Clough, is now part of the Anglezarke Reservoir trail.</p>

I havn't picked up the camera for about 6 weeks, but the trees are starting to turn, so this might convince me to get out and about. </p>
<p>Very little processing done of this, it's pretty much straight out of the camera. Taken with a circular polariser.</p>

After a couple of miles the road comes to a dead end at a holiday village next to Oban beach, yes Oban has a clean sandy beach, in fact it's called Ganavan Sands. The beach was full of people, so we headed over to the rocky outcrops, away from the crowds, where i grabbed a few shots.</p>]]></content></entry></feed>
